The McArthur Glen Ashford Designer Outlet, a major feature in the local skyline, is one of the town’s star attractions when it comes to shopping.
Sitting within walking distance of the town centre, as well as a constant bus service between the town and the outlet (4 mins), even closer to Ashford International and just minutes from junction 10 on the M20 (by car), the McArthur Glen Ashford designer outlet offers heavily discounted goods from leading designer retailers all housed under a huge tented structure.
The McArthur Glen Ashford Designer Outlet currently attracts over 3.6 million visitors a year. It is set to almost double in size with the addition of another 50 stores in autumn 2019. Enhancing the attraction, it will feature Europes largest living wall installation. Comprising of around 120,000 plants, the 25,000 sq ft vertical green garden will provide a striking feature to the new promanade’s entrance.
The New Smart Playground
The latest addition to McArthurGlens Ashford Designer Outlet is the brand new kids adventure playground. But it’s not just any ordinary playground, this is the future of immersive child active play – A smart playground.
With the aid of a downloadable app ( The Has Christian Andersen Play Gate App) the adventure playground becomes a whole new virtual experience, utilising augmented reality (AR).

As well as catering for children of all abilities, including disabled access, it features the UK’s tallest open space tree house. It was designed and installed by Kompan, customised to a ‘Garden of England’ experience.
Opening hours for the Ashford Designer Outlet are as follows –
Saturday – 9.00am to 8.00pm
Sunday – 10.00am to 6.00pm
Monday -to Friday – 10.00am to 8.00pm
It’s also worth checking the outlet’s website if visiting bank holiday or school holiday times as sometimes they hold special events and times may vary. You could sign up to their privilige club ( details below ) which would keep you up to date.
Guide Dogs are welcome at the Ashford Designer Outlet, but not family pet dogs. As well as a number of eating options within the outlet, if you fancy a break or have finished shopping, there are some excellent places to eat in Ashford’s town centre. You can find a list here

From junction 10 of the M20 follow the sign posts for Ashford International station and Ashford Designer Outlet (A2070). Journey time from junction 10 is about 5 minutes, although you should be able to see it once you have exited the motorway and are heading down the A2070.
Look out on the right hand side for the top of the huge tent.
There is ample parking both within the Outlet itself and the overflow car parks next to it.
Directions by train:
As a mainline station, Ashford has trains arriving from just about everywhere. Once you arrive, you have the choice of waiting for the designer outlet bus service which runs in a loop from the town to the outlet, about every ten minutes (journey time 5 mins), grabbing a taxi from outside the station (cost you a few pounds or so) or walking (about 10 minutes or so).
